Fear is the greatest obstacle against our
Curiosity, Creativity, and Innovation, especially when buying or selling your

A number of years ago
while I was bicycling with a hosteling group in England, not far from London at
Bray-On-Thames, is a small hotel, The Hind's Head, in Berkshire.
We hope these inspiring words will encourage, empower and enlighten you,

ANSWERED, NO ONE WAS THERE
Too
often Fear rules over our lives.
Intruding into every situation. Fear
would sit by our sides and whisper gratuitous advice while we make decisions.
Fear would embrace us when we met with grief.
Fear would seize our sleeves when we step forward.
Fear would fray our bodies and our minds, and rob us of the very sleep we
need to mend them.
Fear
masquerades in countless forms and
under many names: Doubt, Indecision, Procrastination, Alarm, Timidity, and
Anxiety. In dress clothes Fear
becomes Terror, Horror, Shock and Consternation.
Fear
constantly knocks at our door, asking to enter our lives.
Fear poses as a friend. Fear
claims to be Prudence, Caution, Care, Diligence and Discretion.
But if we open the course of our lives to Fear, we admit a guest who will
not soon or gracefully depart.
Faith
is the comrade who will serve us best
against fear. For fear is a shadow,
but faith is real. Faith too
assumes other shapes and names. There
is the faith that is met as Prayer, the alliance with the Almighty that enables
one to meet the contrary ways of the world.
Faith is the courage that has battled for mankind's highest ideals.
Some have known faith as the will-to-live when Fear would bring Death
also over the threshold. Faith supports us as Confidence, in ourselves, in those we
serve and those who serve us.
Faith carries the Light of Truth dissolving the shadow of Fear that would blot out every thought and action. Keep Faith your constant companion. When Fear knocks at your door, send Faith to answer.

The benefits of music and dance during the decision
making of buying or selling your home has extended as far back as Aristotle and
Plato. Even Reigning Monarchs had
court musicians and dancers, for their entertainment but possibly for the
relaxing affects from their stresses of boredom? Well buying and selling a home
sure doesnt have boredom but a lot of anxiety and even stress. With modern
technology and the advent of television and the Internet combining visual,
auditory and artistic qualities these medias have extended numerous benefits to
our homes and businesses.
Applying music, dance, laughter and mirth to the buying and selling process of properties, has acquired critical
acclaim because of scientific studies that can now measure some of the perceived
health, stress and anxiety release attributes from music and dance.
One of the best definitions for science and probably for
the home decision makers, I believe was a statement made by Gerald M. Edelman,
M.D., Ph.D., founder of the Neurosciences Institute, La Jolla, California.
He explained the difference between scientists and other people.
"To do science?
To really do science? You
don't live in the world," he says. "You live in an attitude." Dr.
Edelmans statement "You live in an attitude," can extend to
every facet involving not only in science but our emotions, perceptions and
responses of mind as related to the pressure of the multiple decisions and
complexity of buying and selling your home. Of course with the right Attitude of
Gratitude, especially with the right Real Estate Professional can contribute a
lot of pleasure and happiness. Responding
to each emotion still encompasses an
Attitude of Gratitude, which can be helped, developed and
improved, as related to our need for
sometimes, Heroic and Daring humanistic actions to these emotions, yes
especially when buying and selling your home or for that matter, including your
family, finances, location and the magnitude of other disclosures.
The
Neurosciences Institute, during their research, has discovered a way to measure
how the human brain processes intricate tones, presenting incredibly new
insights into the effects of music. While
there application may be directed towards disorders of hearing. I believe,
future studies will extend far beyond into the emotions involved for any home
transactions. But dont let technology interfere with the Romance of the Home
due your transcending enjoyment of also listening your intuition.
Ted Borgeas uses the same concept, in addition to others,
as Hospitals that are now utilizing the media of combining soothing music with
associated pleasant and relaxing nature scenes on television, not only in the
patients rooms but also in the waiting and recovery areas, but instead at his
office and while showing homes in person and on the internet.
He can recall utilizing soothing music and encouraging and positive
conversation regarding the patient's postoperative responses to projected
recovery during surgery in the operating room.
He knew the positive subconscious interpretations by the patient while
under anesthesia aided in theyre perceived recovery and healing and applies
the same principles to homebuyer and sellers.
"People are now using music to help them deal with
sadness and fear." Dr. Anne
Blood, a researcher at Massachusetts General Hospital in Charlestown
Massachusetts. "We are now
showing in our study that music is triggering systems in the brain that make
them feel happy." What a startling revelation, especially since music
lovers and people lovers have known this since eternity!
Our
interpretation of applying dance and music to buying or selling a home may not
include Aristotle's and Plato's ancient perceptions. But the concept of music and dance not only stimulates
physical movement, either overt or imagined but it also affects our
immunological system based on studies relating to music, laughter and humor.
Dancing is not only physical exercise, including
footwork, rhythm, tempo, balance, control, showmanship and style but it also
helps in transcending thought. Try
dancing to any type of fast tunes and think at the same time? It is especially beneficial, in times when we may have nasty
unbeneficial feelings and thoughts or confusing perceptions about properties. It
is guaranteed to change you attitude; to a relaxed Attitude of Gratitude!
I frequently perform solo dancing, yes, by your-self, utilizing various types of ethnic music with marvelous results. This author has utilized music, dance, laughter and mirth, in conquering his prostate cancer. This of course was in conjunction with the Physicians God inspired therapies! Try it? It works.

How does this
apply to assisting the person(s) who owns or is buying a home? Everything!
Let your Buyers and Sellers have
fun with their Intelligences.
Sharing how they can manifest them with an infusion of understanding their own Intelligences and how they pertain to the Buying and Selling process for their future happiness in their home.
This outline will be used to identify the
various intelligences as presented by Howard Gardner of Harvard.
I feel they illustrate a practical relationship between the brief
definitions. Each definition will illustrate, how we can diversely manifest and
be introduced to our Multiple Intelligences.

How many Intelligences?
Adding intelligence to our emotions.
Relating that "reason, intelligence,
logic, knowledge are not synonymous" Howard Gardner (1983) introduced a new
concept of intelligence that is rapidly being utilized in school curricula. In
his Theory of Multiple Intelligences, Gardner shares his views on eight
intelligences to include the following listed below with my brief definitions,
also shared from others. Please refer to the Internet for considerable
information. The list includes:
1. Logical-Mathematical Intelligence, (Resourceful in numbers &
reasoning)
2. Verbal-Linguistic-Intelligence,
(Resourceful in words)
3. Visual-Spatial Intelligence,
(Resourceful in pictures)
4. Musical Intelligence,
(Resourceful in music & sound)
5. Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence,
(Resourceful in body awareness)
6. Interpersonal Intelligence,
(Resourceful in people)
7. Intrapersonal Intelligence,
(Resourceful in self-awareness)
8. Naturalist Intelligences.
(Resourceful in nature & the natural)
With all due respect to interested parties on
Gardners Theories, my interest and concern is not for the classroom but
its real life application to Real Estate, Business Entrepreneurship and our
daily living. Including individual situational awareness; for all ages.
Gardner defines intelligence as "the capacity
to solve problems or to fashion products that are valued in one or more cultural
settings" (Gardner & Hatch, 1989). The seven intelligences Gardner
defines are: Notice our application to his
marvelous theories!
1. Logical-Mathematical
Intelligence--consists of the ability
in problem solving or challenging situations, reason deductively and a logical
thinker. This intelligence is most often associated with scientific and
mathematical thinking.
Think of the Buyer and Seller who want all
the facts and details. They want to understand every word in the contract.
Sounds reasonable and practical but do try to put a little fun into the
transaction. They dont like any loose ends. Especially today when disclosures
and the paper work are horrendous; it may be time to be very logical about all
the needs and details one can think of about a property, including a little
laughter.
2. Verbal-Linguistic
Intelligenceinvolves being
activated by the spoken word, Activated by writing ones thoughts and having a
mastery of language. This intelligence includes the ability to effectively
control language to express oneself in reading. Particularly noticeable with
public speakers!
How about the party that doesnt want to
be bothered with details? They prefer having you just tell them all about it.
Dont bother with the details, whats the bottom line? Well it might be a
good idea to read over each page rapidly but dont forget to put the time when
each page is completed. Its amazing how quickly we forget! Good idea to put
the time on each page with everybody, when they initial each page. Its even
ok for the Real Estate Professional to be verbal but relate to the
clients/Customers welfare and interests.
3. Visual-Spatial Intelligence--gives
one the ability of mental imagery. One might say visualizing the solution, like
a mind map, for end results. This intelligence is not limited to visual domains
only but even to a blind person.
These are the nice folks who have felt
what I call The Love Virus. After
looking at a number of homes, this is it! We
love it. It has romanced us. The hardwood floors are beautiful, the backyard
with the shade trees are just what we want. The rooms are perfect and the
kitchen is so airy. We want it now! Hopefully your own Logical-Mathematical
Intelligence manifested for their qualifying?
4. Musical-Rhythmic Intelligence--encompasses
the capability to recognize and compose musical pitches, tones, and rhythms.
Music consists of melody, rhythm and harmony, in that order. With new
technology, even a deaf person can develop remarkable musical talents.
Theres music and rhythm in the air in
this home. I can hear the ocean waves, the chirping of the birds. The melody,
rhythm and harmony are orchestrated perfectly. Even the wind feels like its
being orchestrated just for you. This is our dream home. The sensitivity to
sounds of rustling leaves; just think of your own moments of moments of Rhythm,
Melody and Harmon in your own life.
5. Bodily-Kinesthetic
Intelligence--is the ability to use
one's mental abilities to coordinate one's own bodily movements. Especially
athletes and dancers have proved this intelligence, that mental and physical
activity is definitely related. Even as related to health factors.
The exercise room or the exercise facility
is just what Im looking for. Depending on the finances this evolves into the
tennis court, golf course, swimming pool and the host of other amenities. The
park, the mountains, the beach, the woods and the hiking trails, all fill our
life styles.
6.
Interpersonal Intelligence--feelings
and intentions of others. How a person interacts with others to accomplish a
task
My mother in law will love it. Think of the
parties we can have. The gorgeous back yard, lots of room for the kids to bring
friends. What a wonderful place to have our family gatherings. Even the boss and
family! Being sensitive to others moods, motives and feelings. Wont
somebody in mind love this place?
7. Intrapersonal
Intelligence--the ability to understand one's own feelings and
motivations. Self-realization and Self-actualization. Who am I? This doesnt
only apply to Buyers and Sellers but to ourselves.
I need my space. The interesting aspect of
this need was the Billionaire, J. Paul Getty. In his huge English mansion with
dozens of rooms, he found comfort and the feeling of well-being within his
person, in only one small room. Oh! He roamed about the place but his home was
that one room. It was his Intrapersonal space. It is said he commented once.
This is my English Cottage. Becoming aware of our own different feelings.
In a stressful and competitive field like real estate or any business, it is
critical to acknowledge our own thoughts and emotions before a burnout phase
creeps in.
8. Naturalist intelligence.
Keenly aware of surroundings and
living things, sensitivity to features of the natural world
Trees, shrubs and forests, I want them all. We love to commune with
nature. Are there developments proposed for this area? New roads planned for
easy access to our sanctuary? Their idealized hideaway with nature and
surroundings must be clarified fully with the possible advent of the intrusion
of numerous variable unforeseen and undetermined factors. Maybe the chicken
ranch on the other side of the hill is now a serious consideration.
Although
the intelligences are separated from each other, they very rarely operate
separately and independently. Basically, each of the intelligences is used
concurrently and typically complement each other as individuals develop skills
